Trinbagonian Race Wagering

Horse racing began informally at Queen’s Park in 1828. In 1897 the Trinidad Turf Club was established and the Race Stand was built, creating regular races. The Trinidad Turf Club acted as controller of the industry and promoter of racing for 79 years. The Trinidad and Tobago Racing Authority took over regulation of the industry in 1976. Queen’s Park no longer holds races.

Now Trinidad and Tobago's only horse track is Santa Rosa Park, which has been owned and operated by the Arima Race Club since 1960.
